Join me in the
Five Minute Friday Challenge hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker. Participants write for 5 minutes
with no editing, no over thinking, and no backtracking. This week’s word is: Laundry.
Confession: My brain is off with the fairies - but I had a go at FMF anyway. I started out with deep thoughts. I really did. But no editing right??!

What a relevant topic right now. Which angle would you
like me to take? From the top of Mt Foldmore or the peak of Mt Washless ?
Actually Foldmore is more of a mountain range. There are
five of us and so very conveniently five seats on the lounge next to the washing
machine. (No my laundry isn’t that
fancy – just situated in one end of the rumpus).
But just like those dirty dishes, the laundry piles are a
constant reminder of our blessings. We have enough clothes for there to be a
dirty clothes pile. We have enough clothes for there to be a clean pile too. We
have enough that we have these piles simultaneously.
We are blessed.
Who’d have thought that having piles was so good?
That’s laundry piles folks.
Piles of blessings.
Count
your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Now, your
turn…
I love your perspective - those piles do represent how very blessed we are! Thanks for sharing! #fmfparty
ReplyDeleteIf piles are representative of our blessings than we are bless beyond belief here! Thanks for stopping by. Bless you :)
DeleteLove your perspective as the laundry as a blessing! My post was completely the opposite :) Thank you for sharing and for making sure the fairies didn't go too far with your brain. Loved it. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteCindy @smalltowngirl
I tried responding to your blog Cindy and I had some trouble. There was much truth in your laundry pile too. Loved your last line! Blessings.
DeleteHahaha! Love it! Those piles are not painful the way you are viewing them! Thanks for the laugh, Meg
ReplyDeleteIt just came out before I could stop it. The fairies got me there. Glad it made you smile :)

ReplyDeleteA sweet perspective. I LOVE how you describe your brain "off with the fairies" I'm stealin that :)
ReplyDeleteSteal away! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteYup, beautiful perspective. May you know His pleasure over your heart toward your laundry piles. :) Bless you!
ReplyDeleteIf I/we don't learn to see the blessing in these things it can become discouraging. Bless you heaps :)
DeleteSo true! I had a friend once who prayed, thanking God for the piles in her house because that meant she had people to cook and wash for- such a perspective really sticks with you! Totally rad! Happy FMF!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great prayer. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings :)
DeleteThank you for the great reminder that piles of laundry equates to piles of blessings! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome - I needed to be reminded too. Blessings :)
DeleteLittle clothes = little ones to wear them! And my new addition to the laundry pile, big boy underwear, means that one day there will be no more diapers. Yes, blessings indeed!
ReplyDeleteBig boys undies are pretty special!! And so, so, so much easier to deal with. Blessings :)
DeleteA bit behind..and I never did get to writing about laundry last week. I only got as far as the title. Here to comment on yours ( I read it the day you posted, but forgot to comment). My favorite line was :Who’d have thought that having piles was so good?
ReplyDeleteThat got me laughing. Indeed. What an inspiring , clever post about laundry. Some people wish they had piles like that..so what a way to view it. Always good to focus on what we have instead of not have. Love it and love you my friend! P.S. ..I did manage to write a FMF this week and it has to do with fairies. The fairies ran off with your brain and visited mine haha. Oh- I also loved the ending quote you posted to this. Can't forget to mention that!
