Limerick Diving

Join me in the Five Minute Friday Challenge hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker. Participants write for 5 minutes with no editing, no over thinking, and no backtracking. This week’s word is: Dive.

(Go)

There was a young lady named Dot,
Who was incredibly hot.
She dived into a pool,
Which helped her to cool
From the top of her head to her bot!

OK so it’s a stinking hot day here. Very humid too. And yes, I think it’s fair to say that the heat has very definitely gotten to me! But I must confess - I am my mother’s daughter and this is how we think allow our brains to wander at times. (Love you Mum!).

Over the years God has taught me to love me for who I am – not what I think others may want me to be. A difficult task at times maybe. As I look to my maker for my self worth I can dive right in with confidence knowing that my quirks are valuable too.

(Stop)

Now, your turn…

  1. Linking up behind you today. Oh how I wish I was hot!My kids are still praying for more snow. You sound like you are very comfortable with who you are. That's awesome. And your little introduction on the side, sounds a bit like the post I wrote today. So nice to meet you.

  2. I wasn't always this way. But I think it's so important to realise that you have value. Period. Thanks for your comment. Bless you heaps :)

  3. AHAHA! That was great. Well here is another awesome thing we have in common LOL. I have a bunch of limericks I wrote when I was in high school and in my 20s. Corny, silly, funny stuff. Aren't limericks fun? I loved yours! It made me laugh. Hot right down to her bot eh? Maybe she also needed to cool off from being one hot looking lady haha. THis post you wrote is so me. I love it! I love all your quirks (at least the fun ones I know from reading the blog and such)..quirky people are just more fun..so never change. We can be quirky together cause I am a giant quirk too. (Well maybe not giant..but on the quirky radar!) God has been helping me in the past decade to embrace that part of me as well. I can really relate to what you say here, and most of the time am comfortable with me too. It's only when I allow myself to think too much about others perceptions that I get off track. It can be hard to never do that, but you are so right.

    1. See! I told you my inspiration was low... haha! a giant quirk huh? you make me giggle too... I love limericks, they are so easy to come up with and keep me entertained. I think if everybody was willing/free to truly be themselves then there would be a lot less self worth issues around. (Not that I'm an expert or anything). Blessings to you :o)
